This traditional artisan "Panama" hat is traditionally woven by female artisans in the Andes mountains of Peru. The toquilla palm tree frond is picked, sun-dried and then stripped into superfine strands that are handwoven to create a structured but featherweight head covering. The hat is then fixed with a natural tree sap to retain its shape.
This crown and brim of this hat is fully moldable through use or intentional sculpting, or can be kept as-is. Used regularly, the off-white palm color will develop into a rich cream color.
This is an entirely plant-based product, no synthetic products or chemicals are used.
