FOUNDER
Kerry Clarkson Valdivia is a Peruvian-British designer with a love of innovation and artisan craft. She applies lateral design-thinking to the entire Taka ecosystem, creating fashion artifacts with socially-oriented values.
Kerry has an international background and has spent much of her adult life investigating artisan craftsmanship around the world. She believes in design as a tool for shaping the cultural landscape. While much of her focus has been on salvaging the idiosyncrasies of the handmade process, Taka represents more than a tactile creation, it represents intimacy in an increasingly impersonal world.
Taka’s backstory is around the handmade, but its narrative evolves alongside the wearer. Kerry utilizes noble materials that are closer to an unprocessed state, as they lend themselves to living products that transform over time.
