Taka is a handcrafted line of unisex, universal hi-function footwear, apparel and accessories.

TAKA SHOES

Taka began with footwear, starting with an abbreviated unisex line of Moccasins and Loafers. Each pair is individually handcrafted through small-batch runs and custom orders. We work with a European-trained cobbler based in Los Angeles, providing the precision and expertise needed for crafting heritage shoes at a local level. 

Designs are engineered to be lightweight, sculpt to the foot and be used daily. All superfluous components have been removed. Each item is designed to adapt to the wearer and evolve over time.

VEG-TANNED & PLANT DYED

Taka Shoes are made from vegetable-tanned vachetta leather. This is a traditional ecological process that preserves the natural quality of full-grain leather and allows for a patina to develop over time. 

We minimize the use of dyes by focusing on Undyed leather, which eliminates the dye step altogether. Our Black leather is dyed with plants, eliminating synthetic petrochemical dyes.

TAKA APPAREL

Taka Apparel is the soft-wear sibling to Taka Shoes. This capsule collection is based around unisex minimal wear for everyday chores, designed to form the basis of a high-functioning, functional wardrobe. 

We work exclusively with natural fibers, specializing in linen, cotton or wool and with abbreviated colorways, with an emphasis on the undyed. Taka Apparel is tailor-made in Los Angeles.
